Understanding Different Admission Cycles Across The Globe

Understanding Different Admission Cycles

Choosing an institution for masters can be difficult, along with understanding proper procedures for admissions. Each university has set their own cycles for an admission process (even between universities in the same country) that most likely cause confusion, stress, and might affect deadlines and requirements. Understanding these varying admission cycles is essential for students who aspire to study internationally, as it allows them to make a better plan, meet deadlines, and ensure to meet all necessary requirements.

Studying Abroad Know Your Intake Cycles

The university intake season is the time of year when new applicants wish to take admissions abroad. The university divides the intake on the basis of season/months such as fall, summer, and spring. Applicants have to manage writing the required exam, forms, visa, etc. in accordance with the intake.

Winter/Fall Intake

The fall intake is offered by many universities. It starts from either late August or early September to late December. The best part of such an intake is the alignment with regular academics all over the world. Students’ studies start in their first semester or trimester of the academic year. Compared with other intakes, it offers a wide range of courses and programs and a majority of scholarships. It is mostly opted by Indian students. Choosing such an intake, students have ample time to settle into the environment and build a network.

Spring Intake

It is not mostly offered by top universities. It starts from the beginning of January and ends in early May. Students who have missed the fall intake can join during the second semester or trimester. It offers ongoing academic programs and benefits from the courses and activities offered during this period. It is easy to get desired courses

Summer Intake

It is the shortest study option, i.e., offered by universities. It lasts till either May to July or August. It offers courses that are specifically meant for international students. It helps in enhancing their knowledge in specific areas, exploring new fields, or engaging in experiential learning opportunities. It also includes language courses, research internships, and short term programs to earn credit during the summer break.
