The Department of Education, CTA, in collaboration with The Tibet Fund, announced the Tibetan Professional Scholarship Program (TPSP). This initiative is designed to assist five outstanding Tibetan students from India, Nepal, and Bhutan in pursuing their Master’s degrees in India. The TPSP scholarship covers tuition costs up to Rs. 2 Lakh, reimbursed based on the bill, but does not cover capitation fees or donations. Additionally, a yearly maintenance allowance of Rs. 75,000 is provided.
The scholarship is available for Master’s programs in various fields including Medicine (MD/MS), Dental Surgery (MDS), Technology (M.Tech), Business Administration (MBA), Computer Application (MCA), Pharmacy (M.Pharm), Physiotherapy (MPT), Law (LLM), Education (M.Ed), Public Health (MPH), Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC), Fine Arts (MFA), Designing (M.Des), Public Administration (MPA), Library and Information Science (MLISc), and Engineering (ME). To retain the scholarship, students must achieve a minimum academic score of 60%.
Selection Process
- After thorough examination of the necessary documents, eligible candidates will be called for an interview.
- In the event of a tie, preference will be given to the candidate with the higher undergraduate score.
Are You Eligible?
- Applicants must be a Tibetan refugee student who has a Green Book (GB). Applicant and his/her parents’ Green Book contribution must be paid till 2023. Information about GB must be mentioned in “Form-A” and attested by the concerned Tibetan Settlement Officer.
- Applicants must have scored at least 65% in Bachelor’s degree. Preference will be given to fresh graduates. (Upload Bachelor’s Mark Sheets)
- Two reference letters from a former teacher, professor, employer, professional colleague, or mentor.
- Personal statement no longer than 1,000 words.
- Curriculum vitae no longer than two pages in length.
Scholarship incentives
The scholarship will reimburse the tuition fee with a maximum ceiling of Rs 2 Lakh. furthermore, it will also provide a yearly maintenance allowance of Rs 75,000. For continuation of the scholarship, a student must maintain his/her score above 60% in all the academic years.
