The Norwegian Nobel Institute, established in 1904, is responsible for assisting the Nobel Committee in selecting the Nobel Peace Prize laureates. It also facilitates research, hosts events, and promotes dialogue on international peace and conflict. It also houses a research unit which assists the Nobel Committee and conducts independent research and dissemination throughout the year. Since 1991, nearly 150 visiting fellows from over 25 countries have spent shorter or longer periods at the Institute, including many of the world’s leading historians and political scientists.
A distinguished opportunity for academics and researchers to pursue advanced studies on peace, conflict resolution, and international relations is provided by the Norwegian Nobel Institute Research Fellowships. Fellows get access to the institute’s vast library and archives in addition to a lively intellectual community centered on international peace challenges. The fellowship promotes collaboration between specialists in diverse sectors and interdisciplinary research. Fellows contribute to policy and academic conversations throughout their stay, advancing their own research goals and providing insights into urgent global issues. To achieve this purpose, the NNI announces 3-5 NNI Research Fellowships for Spring 2025.
